After the title sponsor VIVO decided to withdraw this year, new names are coming up every day. Demands for a boycott of Chinese goods were mounting after the Indo-China border dispute. As a result, pressure was mounting on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Therefore, it has been announced that VIVO has withdrawn as the title sponsor of IPL this year.

So now IPL 2020 is on its way to becoming self-reliant. After the withdrawal of VIVO, Baba Ramdev is in the race for the title sponsor called Patanjali. The company is considering bidding for IPL title sponsorship. (Patanjali IPL 2020). Patanjali is a pure indian based company therefore fans won’t oppose this brand.

This year’s IPL will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the coronavirus crisis. The BCCI official also said that the central government had given its approval in principle. An earlier meeting of the governing council had announced that the IPL would be held from September 19 to November 10. Vivo India had won the title sponsor in 2018 for Rs 2199 crore. Accordingly, the IPL gets Rs 440 crore a year from Vivo. Vivo still has a three-year contract left. Accordingly, in 2021, 2022 and 2023, Vivo will return as the title sponsor of the IPL.

While the names of Reliance Jio, Amazon,Coke, Byju’s etc.. are being discussed for this year’s IPL title sponsor, now Patanjali too is thinking of getting into this race. We are considering the IPL title sponsorship for this year, since we want to give the Patanjali brand a global marketing platform,” – said Patanjali’s spokesperson SK Tijarawala.

“If we get the rights to be the title sponsor of the IPL, it will benefit the company more than the IPL. Also, India’s determination to become self-reliant will be greatly encouraged,” – said brand experts.
