The IPL is all set to start from 19th of September in 3 different venues of UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah). The UAE had already hosted one leg (15 days) of IPL back in 2014 when IPL was pushed out of India due to general elections. All 8 teams will have their respective home ground where they will play their majority of their matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders plans to make Abu Dhabi as their base i.e home ground. They (KKR) are superstitious to the fact that they had started their journey of IPL 2014 in Abu Dhabi and eventually won their 2nd title on their way back to India. They will wish to have that same good-run when they play in Abu Dhabi this year under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik.

In 2014, the KKR team and support staff stayed in Ritz Carlton hotel, Abu Dhabi and the franchise is discussing to halt the players in the same hotel this year.

On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians instead of staying in Dubai, will make Abu Dhabi their fortress. According to media reports a hotel which is 7 minutes walk from the stadium has been booked. The reason why Mumbai Indians chose Abu Dhabi as their home venue is because of the good business relations between the reliance group owner of MI and Sheik Nayan (UAE ministry of culture and social development).

There is no information of home grounds of other teams. Hopeful very soon we will get updates regarding other teams as well.
